How to enable meld file filters

I use meld usually in a git web project (system: Ubuntu-gnome 13.10).

I want it to skip scanning specific files and folders, such as the .meteor directory (which takes time to scan).

Ubuntu-Gnome establishes a 1.8.1 connection. In the section "Edit → Settings →" File Filters "there is an option to add a new file filter. More details: http://meldmerge.org/help/file-filters.html#file-name-filter

I added new rules for the file and folder that I want to skip (and checked the "activate" option), but it does not seem to work even after restarting meld.

The new rules simply do not work - I see that meld looks at the .meteor folder and also shows that the file is ignored (index.html) as modified. I do not see the open meld error for "file filters that do not work." I tend to think that this works, only I am doing something wrong. Any ideas on how to handle this would be very welcome!

I have an answer to my question, several:

Meld has two modes:

  • VC (Version Control): Meld compares with the image of the VC directory and ignores the parameter File Filters
  • Non-VC mode: filter hit in

It makes several sense way.

meteor.js, .meteor . , src . /, . .meteor .gitignore, git . , Meld , , , "".

. File Filters. , meld ( VC-) .

Meld " .gitignore /", . https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=684400

( ). , 3.11.1 . , .

, Deb/Ubuntu, , , meld head: http://meldmerge.org/development.html
