Font attachment in Apache FOP

Question

Font attachment in Apache FOP

I am trying to get Apache FOP to use Arial as a font. So far, no luck.

My config.xml says:

</fonts>

But it does not seem to work. When I run FOP on the command line, it says that the Arial normal font was not found.

I tried to generate the Arial.xml file from ttf using TTFReader in FOP, but that didn't work either (even following the instructions on the fop webpage). The following error message appears:

Perhaps I do not see the forrest for the trees, but I do not understand what to do.

Any suggestions?

UDPDATE:

I downloaded a lot of xml files from this site: http://www.java2s.com/Code/Jar/f/Downloadfopfontmetricsjar.htm (which for me is very similar to the xml files that were already in fop, so I assume that they are in the correct format)
