.apk renamed .txt to AVD

I installed Eclipse ADT, but virtual Android 4.4 saves renaming apk files to txt. I would like to rename them, but I can not install the file manager to do this, because it is also apk!

I did not have this problem with another version of the SDK / Android 4.2.2 manager.

What is the best workaround?

As Chris Stratton suggested, use adb install, on Windows it can be found in ... \ Android \ android-sdk \ platform-tools, as described here http://www.howtogeek.com/125769/
