Is the probability P (A, B) equal to P (intersection A)?

I need to learn some basics of probability for implementing a computer vision algorithm. However, I am confused by the notation and meaning of the joint probability P (A, B) and P (intersection B). Could you explain if they have the same meaning or what is the difference?

Thanks in advance...

They have the same meaning, only the difference in designations.

Usually P (A, B), P (intersection B) and P (AB) mean the same thing. All of them mean event "A and B".
