Domain Models in UML?

I read about the domain model and its importance, and I have the following doubts:

  • What problems can be solved with domain models? in other words, for each task should I build a domain model?

  • As far as I know, domain models are represented using class diagrams. Is there no difference between a class diagram and a domain model?

  • I would also like to understand how is this a dictionary related to a domain model?
