Find where the text is cut into a div

Is it possible to find out (in javascript or jQuery) where the text is cut out in a div that has the overflow = hidden CSS property?

I would like my text in two different div divs to start at the first and at the end of the second.

Thanks for any help.

what you need CSS Regions http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-regions/

CSS areas are a method of flowing content into multiple elements.

This is a working w3c project that is not yet fully implemented in all browsers.

It is currently supported in Safari and, in part, in IE. It is planned not to implement it in Firefox or Chrome.
