Macports does not install man pages

I run OSX Mavericksand installed Macports. I installed gccthrough Macports, which works fine. However, when I type man gcc, I get:

No manual entry for gcc

I was told that I need to add the following to my .bash_profile

export MANPATH=/opt/local/share/man:$MANPATH

which I did without effect. Does Macports actually install the corresponding manual pages? The command page for the port command works just fine, as well as other predefined tools like clang.

Any help? Greetings.

I had the same problem.

I'm not sure how macports installs manpath or how to change it correctly in os x.

man --path, , . , /opt/local/share/man .

gcc man find, , man

$ find /opt/local/share/man -name "*gcc*"
/opt/local/share/man/man1/gcc-mp-4.8.1.gz

, man gcc-mp-4.8.1, .

, , man.

:

man /opt/local/share/man/man1/g++-mp-4.8.1.gz
