Getting error in umbraco The type or namespace name 'Umbraco' could not be found

Question

The type or namespace name 'Umbraco' could not be found (are you missing the using directive or assembly reference?)

I get this error when I inherit my controller from

Umbraco.Web.Mvc.RenderMvcController

I checked that the umbraco.dll link was provided when installing umbraco from NuGet in Visual Studio 2012.

Intellisense allows me to select this link, but when I compile the code, it throws this exception, as shown below.

All other umbraco work well, I have projects of static views, master pages, macros, etc. everything is working fine.
