SignalR Link Bandwidth

Question

I have a signalR application that has 5,000 clients connected to a server. My client has no control over sending a message or anything else. my client sends a 5 digit message to clients.

My question is: if 5,000 clients are connected to the SignalR server, then my server will need bandwidth.

This can be calculated as follows:

(Max Size of message) * (Max frequency of message) * (Max Number of clients)

For example, suppose a message is 1 KB in size. With 1 message per second and 5,000 clients, this will result in the required bandwidth of 5 megabytes per second (network speed at 40 megabits per second). This is the maximum throughput required for maximum processing.
