Current Google Play installations exceed active installations

I currently have an Android app in the Google Play store. In the "Current / General Settings" section, the "current" settings are higher than the "total" number of installations. How exactly did this happen? Does this mean that people share the application / get it without paying? Or is this normal?

I understand that current installations mean the total number of people who still have the application, minus any uninstalls, while the total amount is each installation with uninstalls. So how exactly can the current be higher than mine?
