Facebook API cannot retrieve data such as profile statuses without a friend (no mutual friends)

Question

first time on stackoverflow. Thinking about this problem, which I mentioned in the title, my application cannot retrieve any data via the API for any profiles that are not connected in any case (without mutual friends). Is this known due to privacy settings or permissions?
