Why Chrome plays HTML5 video in poor quality when Firefox plays it in excellent quality

I was wondering why Chrome with the HTML5 video library plays .mp4 video in very poor quality. But, however, in Firefox it reproduces it in excellent quality. Does anyone know why this is?
