How to complete quotes in Thunderbird automatically

When replying to letters with long lines, I have to manually scold the quotation marks, which is very annoying because I have to use the context menu to insert as a quote (for example: no Ctrl-V).

I did a search from time to time because the cases in which I need this feature are very rare. But so far I have not found anything useful. Maybe I suffer from special blindness?

Edit: I forgot to make it clear that I am responding via a text email.

Go to Edit → Settings ⇢Advanced⇢Config Editor and find the wrapper. Set all boolean values to true and mailnews.wraplengthequal to 0. Thus, all lines will be wrapped in accordance with the width of the window dynamically and no actual lines will be inserted that may interfere with rendering for your recipient (as it should be ).
