Exit Code 11 Install Persistent (Yesod)

I try to install Yesod on my Mac (by running Mavericks), but the installation failed due to a Persistent installation error. In particular, cabal install persistentit gives:

Failed to install persistent-1.3.0.2
Updating documentation index /Users/Max/Library/Haskell/doc/index.html
cabal: Error: some packages failed to install:
persistent-1.3.0.2 failed during the building phase. The exception was:
ExitFailure 11

(Full output is available as an entity)

I don’t think this is a conflict problem because I ran rm -rf ~/.ghc ~/.cabalit before trying to do it (although I think that 3 globally installed packages may not have been erased - unsure).

I am using the latest Haskell platform with a ghc-clang-wrapperscript.

Cabal Options:

$ cabal --version
cabal-install version 1.16.0.2

GHC Version:

$ ghc --version
