Chrome Developer Tools magnifying glass disappears from Chrome 32

I just upgraded to Chrome 32.0.1700.76 m (in Win7), and the developer tools have changed.

Particularly painful is the disappearance of the magnifying glass icon to check the elements on the page. The list of shortcuts is not mentioned there either.

Does anyone have information on where this went and / or how to turn it on again?

The Check Item icon is now in the upper left corner of devtools.
