Intellij gradle storage arrangement of a very large index

I use Intellij Idea and Gradle to compile my Android apps, and I noticed that my computer was slowing down, and I found out that it was because Idea was creating two large files (1.1 GB) and my hard drive was getting full .

~/.IdeaIC13/system/Maven/Indices/Index1
~/.IdeaIC13/system/Maven/Indices/Index2

So, I tried doing File> Invalidate Caches / Restart, but that did not delete them. Therefore, I deleted the folders manually, but after starting Idea again and compiling it, he recreated them.

I could solve this problem by allocating some more space, but I would know better what is happening and if I can be fixed. Thanks
