Practical use for 4D + arrays

I studied Java and C ++ this year, and I'm curious; What practical applications exist for a 4 or even 5-dimensional array? My teacher basically says that you are using the wrong data type if you want to use a 4-dimensional array.

Have you ever used 4 out of 5 (or more) dimensional arrays? What did you use it for? What practical application can you come up with for them?

Thank!
