Can I use the Google Play games service for non-games

Well, that sounds weird. Games for Google games were made for games. And that’s great. Achievements, cloud preservation, etc.

Now my application is NOT a game. But it is well-documented and researched that turning work / work into etc into games makes them more fun, and people are more likely to want to do them.

And this is what I want to do for my application. I can not add it to the games section, as this is a performance / utility application. Nevertheless, I would like to add achievements to it, etc. And when I saw that the Google Play Games services already have some features that I need, I thought I could use it. However, it looks like your application should be a game to use it.

Does anyone know if you can actually use services with non-games?

This is technically possible, but in the circumstances when you use the services in the application, be careful because if your application does not meet the branding requirements, you can remove it from the Play store, as described in the Google Play Games Terms of Service .

As long as you can follow the Branding Guidelines on Google Play Game Services , you should be fine.

Yes, you can. Google employees, speaking at yesterday's event at Google Campus London, really said that.
