Computer Vision Performance Issues for iPhone 4 (S) vs. iPad2

We have this project using OpenCV and first we developed it for iPad2.

Everything went smoothly, and the iteration of recognition of computer vision objects took a little less than 1 second.

So far so good. Now we are testing the application for the iPhone 4 and 4S. Of course, we did our research, as the results showed that the performance of the iPhone4S was almost as fast as the iPad2.

The results of the iPhone 4 are terrible, one iteration takes 15 seconds. On iPhone 4S, iteration takes 8 seconds.

So, with our algorithms: iPhone4 is 15 times slower than iPad2; iPhone4S is 7-8x slower than iPad2

Does anyone know if this is true? Is there something that the iPhone does differently than the iPad2? Is the processor of the same type?

Anyone who can point us in the right direction?

Similar processors, different cameras. The iPad has less MP than the iPhone. On iPhone, make sure that you reduce the image to an acceptable size before processing.
