Error "Failed to get SDK status from server" in Xamarin iOS with VS 2012

When I load the Xamarin iOS solution in Visual Studio 2012, I get the error "Failed to get the SDK status from the server"

Someone suggested disabling the proxy server, but on which PC, Windows or MAC, and how to disable the proxy server, which was also not mentioned.

Can someone help me get rid of this error?

I was correctly connected to the build host (using Visual Studio 2013), but was also getting this error. I got this to work, making sure the build configuration platform is set toiPhoneSimulator.

Build -> Configuration Manager -> Platform (for my iOS project) -> iPhoneSimulator
