The gcc command failed with exit status 1 when installing pydeep

I'm trying to install pydeep through pip install pydeepon CentOS 64b, but I get the following: error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1. Tried to install gcc and many others, such as python-dev, etc., but still no result. I also cloned it from GitHub and tried: python setup.py buildbut I get the same problem (note that I already have libssdeep).

If anyone else stumbles upon this by running the following fixed pydeep compilation issues for me on Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install python-dev libfuzzy-dev

pydeep setup.py root
