AppCache does not work on IE via SSL

We have a website hosted over SSL in IIS, and we encounter problems trying to get it to work offline in IE.

We have a landing page that is bookmarked in IE 11, and we have the following IE settings Delete Browsing Historyso that IE does not delete temporary Internet files, local storage, and IndexedDB when exiting the browser (the Notification Save Fav .. check box is checked).

When we visit a page in IE via HTTP / HTTP, IE caches the website correctly and the IndexedDB data store is created.

We face the following problems:

When we exit the browser

  • IndexedDB for this domain is cleared (for HTTP / HTTP)
