Gnuplot newhistogram: how to set the font size of headers?

I am using gnuplot 4.4.3 to build some histograms.

My question is very similar to this: gnuplot-x-label-position-in-histogram

But I want to make the newhistogram headers larger. By the names of the new histograms, I mean those that are below xticlabels (ie "1: j", "2: j", "3: j" in the link above).

I tried:

set xtic font ',12'

but only increases the xtic shortcuts.

I also tried:

set style histogram rowstacked title offset 0,-1 font ',12'

and again, did not notice any changes.

Any help please?

To change the font size of these labels, you must use the extended text syntax:

WITH

set termoption enhanced
plot ...,\
    newhistogram "{/*1.2 title}",\

20%. , {/=14 title}.
