Migration from parse.com

Let's say I have 10K users for my application, and I want to switch to my own server for the backend. I have seen Parse export functionality, but I don’t understand how it can help me in this situation.

  • I mean, even if I export all the data and make updates for the application so that it makes calls to my new custom server, however, it will take several months for all my users to use the updated version of the application (many users do not update immediately, last update on fb was a year ago).
  • In addition, during this transition, half of my users will have data on my custom server and the other half (those who did not upgrade) will use a parser, so for queries that require all the data in one place, this becomes a problem (I could solve this problem using replication, but imagine how slow it would be in real time to do data for both - my server and parse.com).

Has anyone thought about this?
