Windows Server 2012 R2 Smart Card Limit

In the afternoon everything

We have an application running on Windows Server that requires connecting up to 50 smart cards to the host application server.
This works without any problems in our existing Server 2003/2008 installations.

However, when we started testing the application on Server 2012 R2, only 10 smart cards appear. All USB devices are recognized correctly, however our pcsc test application can only find 10 terminals.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any known fixes?
