There are several plugins for multilingual sites (Wpml, QTranslate, Polylang, etc.), but I would suggest a solution that I use myself. I am using the Polylang plugin . You can easily install it by downloading it manually or (which I prefer) by simply searching for it from the plugins page.
Then you have different options for sharing your languages, namely:
- Each language on its own virtual subdomain (my favorite way, by the way) is
en.yoursite.com, de.yoursite.cometc. To do this, you need to add a wildcard domain *.yoursite.comin the control panel (this is quite simple in CPanel, for example). - Each language in its own virtual folder -
yoursite.com/en/, yoursite.com/de/etc. - Languages ββare switched with a parameter in the URL -
yoursite.com?lang=en, yoursite.com?lang=deetc.
