Hi, I am trying to use the power line theme for zsh, and although I installed Powerline-symbols.otf and various fonts from the https://github.com/Lokaltog/powerline-fonts repo, I can not get the Powerline prompt to display the characters. Instead, I get [X] where the characters should be.
I use a terminal and make sure it is set to xterm-256 and encoding utf-8.
Just downloading and installing fonts is not enough. To get Powerline characters, you need to tell Terminal to use one of the fixed fonts that you downloaded.
Terminal- > Preferences.... Settings- > Text Change... Font. "Powerline" , Powerline.
