Linux PCI Bus Measurement

Question

I have a linux system (3.12) (x86-64) with several devices connected to the PCI bus (PCI-e). I would like to measure the load of the PCI bus in the current situation and again when I connect another device to the bus to see the difference, but I have no idea how to do this. Is there any way to do this?

I was able to do this using Intel Performance Counter Monitor V2.7. I was fortunate that, since v2.5 for the x86 processors, a PCI-e bus monitor was added.
