CSMA / CD: Minimum frame size to hear all collisions?

Question from the network class:

"In a csma / cd lan of 2 km at a speed of 100 megabits per second, what will be the minimum frame size to hear all the collisions?"

I looked at everything and could not find information on how to do this. Is there a formula for this problem? Thanks for any help.

The bandwidth delay product is the amount of data in transit. Propagation delay is the time it takes for a signal to propagate over a network.

propagation delay = (wire length / signal speed). assuming copper wire ie speed = 2/3 * speed of light

= (2000/(2 * 3 * 10 ^ 8/3)) = 10

- , .

= 2 * = 20us

= * (rtt)

= * rtt = 100Mbps * 20us = 2000bits
