Python has this magic shelvethat is similar to dict, except that it is automatically supported by the file. This allows you to maintain a large data structure between program runs. The really amazing thing is that it does not even load everything from the disk every time you start it, but waits for you to ask for a key, and then give that key value.
So the obvious question is: Can Haskell compete?
