KDevelop cannot debug in ubuntu?

I am new to KDevelop. I am using ubuntu to develop C.

My problems: I am already calling a breakpoint in KDevelop. After I hit F9. KDevelop simply shows "***** The output is usually ******". I'm not quite sure what the problem is?

Looks like I can't debug.

And I do not see the print.

Check out CMakeLists.txt. In my case, even in Project-> Open Configuration ... I do CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE as Debug, but CMakeLists.txt has Release, the release mode is still used in the assembly. Hope this helps.

Run → Configure Launches, [ ...] → , Debug , Debugger: /usr/bin/gdb.
