VS 2010 Cannot open source file "string"

Suddenly Intellisense in my VS 2010 project started to fade.

Everything builds correctly, but it can no longer find basic C ++ header files, such as a line, map, etc. It no longer recognizes std :: namespace, and usually it just goes into haywire.

The code is still compiling, but no matter what I do, I cannot get Intellisense to work correctly again.

The closest existing question I found was here: VS 2010 error - cannot open file "iostream"

but this solution did not work for me.

I have both 2012 and 2010 installed, so I wonder if anyone else has mixed up. I use 2010 for this though.

Ok, I figured it out. This was due to this: Error VS 2010 - cannot open the file "iostream" ; I just had to change it a bit.

1) Open the properties dialog box. It was not clear to me what this really meant in this answer. I just right-clicked on my project and selected properties.

The right thing is to choose a separate subproject for your decision. After choosing this, move the mouse to the upper left of the solution developer window. When you hover over this icon, you should see "Properties." Open it.

2) Open the directory properties. Select the VC ++ Directories option in the "Configuration Properties" section.

3) - . , : VS 2010 - "iostream" , :

2a) (, ) ""...

2b) Inherit from parent

2c) "". .

2d) "".

2e) ok, .

2f) , . $(ExecutablePath) .

g) , $(ExecutablePath), Include Directories $(IncludePath) ..

h) "", "" .

Intellisense, , .
