IOS 8 Remove existing extension

I created an extension encoded in Objective-c today, and I decided that I did not want it in my application. I deleted the scheme, the target, and all the files associated with it, but it remained in my notification center. I uninstalled the application, and it was no longer in the notification center, and then when I started the application again, it returned. I am afraid that when I send the application, a blank widget will appear as an option to add to the notification center. Does anyone know how I can completely remove the extension from the application? Thank you
