Use the Video as Landing background (as shown in Spotify, Twitter, or Vine)

I would like to set the video as the background for the presentation. I found several solutions, each of which has major flaws, for example:

• Using MPMoviePlayerController, it works fine. The video has better quality, however it uses a lot of processor (~ 50% on my Mac). I did not dare to check it on my phone.
• Convert video to .gif and display it with UIWebView. This is a great solution, but I could not create a high quality gif. There are many movements in the video that are not suitable for gif files.

Is there a better solution? I would appreciate any help. Thank.

I did this before use AVPlayer. This was with iOS 4 (a long time ago), and it did not have a noticeable effect on performance.
