Eclipse + adb - you need to restart adb so that the emulator appears in the list of devices

this problem only started about a week ago, and I can’t determine what is the reason, so I hope someone else can give some ideas.

the emulator starts and displays in the DDMS view, and adb devicesdisplays the emulator at startup from the command line. however, when I try to launch my application, the "Select Android device" dialog box does not display it in the "Select a working Android device" list until I forcefully restarted adb. This must be done every time the application starts.

Eclipse and adb work as a Linux user.

Some details about my setup:

  • OS X Yosemite
  • Eclipse luna
  • ADT 23.0.4.1468518

... I think it might have started after I upgraded from OS X Mavericks => Yosemite, but it could be a red herring.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! this is a nuisance that seems to slow performance a bit.

** UPDATE (resolved) **

after you searched a lot and came up empty-handed, I decided to follow the path of awakening Genymotion (which, by the way, seems great!). In the end, I decided to solve the problem associated with this setting, which ultimately leads me to this message . Apparently, the error that was introduced / activated for Mac users who upgraded to Yosemite, which causes emulators to run, does not appear in the "Select Android Device" dialog box.
