Stop event distribution for Chrome Page Action

Question

I am creating a chrome extension with a page action. When I click on the page action icon, it fires a click event, but a click also opens a chrome predictive service or offer. This is due to the fact that I cannot stop the event from spreading in the address bar, which, in turn, captures the click event and shows intelligent service. I know that users can turn off intelligent service, but this is not a solution. How can I make a click event to stop distribution or manage this intelligent service from my extension? The chrome onclick event handler only gets the tab, but not the click event
