I am trying to disable Lollipop on my Nexus 5 from an OTA zip file.
At this point, adb recognizes the device after connecting the USB cable and issues a serial number.
As I understand it, the instructions for side loading, as soon as I get to this point, I just need to reboot into recovery mode (which works as expected), and then bypass the red exclamation mark icon using "volume and power" at the same time. This also works.
At the moment when the Nexus 5 screen says: "Now send the package that you want to apply to the device using" adb sideload & ltfilename & gt "I print" adb sideload + OTA image file name ", which I renamed for convenience " The file is located in the "Platform Tools" folder.
At this point, the command window reports: error: device not found
So ... the device is visible on adb, but somehow it is no longer found after rebooting the device in recovery mode.
I replaced all usb drivers, turned on debug mode and usb mode on the Nexus device. I tried this on Windows 7 as well as on Linux (both from the android sdk toolkit and from the Eclipse installation). I can not get adb to talk with Nexus 5.
I read the usb file infroid-windows usb, and there is no special section for Nexus 5, but I added a line in the "general Android" section with USB \ VID_18D1 and PID_D001, as suggested in other places for people who could not get the OS to see them communication in general. My problem is not that the OS cannot see it ... and adb sees it too, until I try to disconnect the OTA file in recovery mode.
Does anyone else have this problem or even better ... any ideas on how to solve it?
