Yosemite-style toolbar for document-based applications?

Looking for a way to create a Yosemite-style toolbar, but keep the default functionality of the document-based application header.

Which requires hiding the header. Is there a way to get this look, but keep the look of the header that contains:

• file name
• if the file has been edited
• freaky renaming popover?
