Load balancer and session management

Question

If there is a website on which 2 servers are running. These 2 servers balance the load using the Load Balancer. So, if 1 session is created on 1 server and they say that the download goes directly to another server, then how is the session supported?

I'm just interested in the concept at a very high abstract level, and not in the real implementation details.

This is where the concept of "Sticky Sessions" or "Affinity Session" comes into play.
