Disabling Welding in the Wild Strangely Deteriorates JSF Performance

Question

In wildfly 8.x or even jboss 7.x, disabling welding results in very poor performance in JSF.

I discussed my performance issue earlier in this question , and I managed to solve it by including the extension with the extension in standalone.xml

Here is my JSF GITHUB example (please go ahead and try on wildfly)

Could someone explain to me why welding affects performance?
