Semantic methods in IOT

I am trying to use semantic technology in IOT. Over the past two months I have been doing a literary review, and during this time I got acquainted with some of the tools needed (protege, Apache Jena). Now, along with reading documents, I want to play with semantic methods such as annotation, data binding, etc., so that I can better understand the concepts involved. For this, I put the roadmap as:

  • Collect data manually (using sensors) or use some data set already on the Internet.
  • Annotate a dataset and possibly use an ontology (not sure)
  • Applying Open Link Principles I'm not sure if this roadmap is correct or not. I ask for suggestions in the following paragraphs.

Is this roadmap correct? How should I approach steps 2 and 3. In other words, what tools should be used for these steps?

Hope you guys help me find the right way to handle this problem. Thanks

Semantics and IoT (or semantic sensor network [1]) are a hot topic. Congratulations on choosing an interesting and noteworthy research topic.

In my opinion, your three-step approach looks good. I would recommend that you make a quick prototype so that you can explore potential problems early.

In addition to deployment technologies (Portege, etc.), the following important work may be useful for you:
