Appstore update process and application version upgrade

I have an application pending "Pending Developer Release." Meanwhile, I got an error. So I want to release a new version. As the apple says

You can add a new version of the application if the current version status is ready for sale or the developer is removed from the sale.

So, I plan to remove the application from sale, deselecting all territories. Then I will get the opportunity to add a new version and send it for viewing. And I want to release the first version if reviewing the second version takes longer. I think I can make the first version β€œready for sale,” and the second version is waiting for a review.

My doubts:

  • Is it possible to change the status directly from the "Pending Developer Release" section to the "Developer removed from the sale" without having passed the "Ready for Sale" status?
  • Can I submit the second version for viewing, and the status of the first version is β€œDeveloper removed from sale”?
  • Is it possible to return the first version for sale, and the second version is waiting for viewing status?

1) No, but you can instantly remove it from the sale, after which it will change to "Ready for sale."

2) Yes, that's fine - I did it myself several times.
