please, help
I am trying to configure kinect for XBOX 360 to run on ubuntu in order to start developing an application for controlling a humanoid robot. Over the past four days, I have searched, downloaded, installed, and tried dozens of libraries and drivers to get kinect working on Ubuntu. nobody worked at first, and I could read the RGB camera using "Camorama" and "guvcview" no matter what library or driver I try to run. Finally, I installed a new copy of Ubuntu and installed the libfreenect libraries using synaptic (I'm a beginner newbie), and I also installed the following packages
https://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/downloads/detail?name=OpenNI_NITE_Installer-Linux64-0.27.zip&can=4&q=
along with 2.0 processing and SimpleOpenNi-0.27
I start processing -> examples -> OpenNi -> DepthImage and RUN and kinect starts within 3 to 10 seconds, giving the image below several times along with the RGB image and several times with it, then the frame freezes and when I try to list USB devices ( $ lsusb), there is no Kinect camera or audio devices, so Kinect needs to be disconnected from the adapter and USB, and then plugged in again and the problem still occurs after running the sketch.
Attempts to solve:
1- removing and blacklisting the gspca kernel module
2- disabling USB auto-substitution
but the problem still arises ...
