I am using this service. http://www.freegeoip.net/ and I quote the text below.
The freegeoip web server is free and open source, so if limiting public services is a problem for you, download it and run your own instance
The default limit for public service of 10,000 requests per hour by default may or may not be a problem for me, so I just want to make a safe route early enough by downloading it and launching my own instance.
However, I have no zero experience in deploying such a server. Does anyone here know or know a walkthrough that might make me start deploying my won instance. Can I host this server on Windows, or should my own instance be hosted on a Linux server?
My site is hosted on windows in IIS.
