Titanium Admob continues to check new ads

I am using the titanium admob module found here

My application has several pages, so I upload ads to several of them.

My problem is that after several visits, each of the ads does not seem to collect or kill garbage, so in my release I see a lot of informational instructions indicating that the application checks for ads. This is not happening every 60 seconds, much closer to every 5 seconds.

I assume that this will lead to some use of degradation / battery while the application is running.

Does anyone know how I'm going to “kill” admob ad update? If it's specific to titanium, great. If this is specific to android, well, let me know the method calls and the concept, and I'll see if I can translate this to js titanium code!

onPause () activity lifecycle method, consider suspending AdView mGoogleAdView;

           if (mGoogleAdView != null) {
                mGoogleAdView.pause();
            }

In the OnDestroy lifecycle method, consider

 mGoogleAdView.destroy();

PS: I have not used Titanium.
