There is one thing that I do not get in ArangoDB:

What is the difference between rib assembly and graph? When should I choose which one?

Graphs in ArangoDB are created on top of documents and edges.

Edge collections have automatic indexes on _fromand _to, which allows you to efficiently retrieve any connected documents. Since the data is still stored in regular (documents and edges) collections, you can also use these collections in non-graphical queries.
