Hosting: Parse.com with ElasticSearch

Question

I am trying to create a scalable application using Parse with the search function provided by ElasticSearch.

It seems I will have to host my own ElasticSearch server, which connects to Parse through the MongoDB ES river.

It's true? Or Parse is handling ES hosting.

I am new to both of these solutions.
