Any file hosting site that supports direct downloads?

I do not know if it should be here or on another SE site.

I am working on a program, and to check for updates, it downloads a file using URLDownloadToFile (). The file contains a number indicating the latest version and is compared with a hard-coded value in the program (changes with each new version). So I tried several sites to host files.

MediaFire: the link will take you to the MediaFire page, and if you copy the address associated with the download button, it will return to the same page again (and somehow load the file without seeing the file name).

Dropbox: the same problem arises - there is no direct download link.

Google Drive: There is a download link, but URLDownloadToFile () does not accept it and nothing loads.

Does anyone know a file hosting site that:

• Free
• Direct download link
• I can modify the files (I don’t mind if the URL changes, since I can use shortIcc shortener, which allows me to edit destination URLs).

Using dropbox you can change http://www.dropbox.comto http://dl.dropboxusercontent.comand get a direct download link.
