Peach equivalent of git local commit

I just started using Perforce after using Git for a year. Is there any equivalent of local Git binding for my branch in perforce.

Essentially, if I want to work on a complex task that may require canceling and repeating my specific changes, is there a way to do this in Perforce? The way I do this in Git will commit my changes to the branch and have a few commits inside the branch before merging into master.

If you decide to go with the bridge, understand that this is likely to lead to a large IT infrastructure, and you may have to convince your organization that it is worth it.
