Is it necessary to have a master actor in Akka?

I'm trying to learn a little about akk actors (in scala), and I came up with this question that I could not find an answer to.

You definitely need to create a master actor, and from there create workers with a working router? Or can you just skip this step and go directly to creating workers with a working router from your main site?

Let me know if you need any code, but I mostly follow HelloWorld for akka.

Strictly speaking: yes. In terms of business logic: no.
